Diamond Razor Edge review
2010 Diamond Razor Edge review
In a time when most companies are manufacturing products in other countries like Taiwan and China or cutting corners in quality materials to make ends meet in a poor economy, one company certainly isn't making its customers accept any less.
The youth/ ladies Diamond Razor Edge review
That company would be Bowtech. Their Diamond Razor Edge youth/ ladies bow has more then impressed us and delivered great performance in our BOWZOOKA archery product review. The first thing noticed when grabbing a hold of this bow is the great velvet finish, a nicely rubberized coating over the paint on the limbs and riser which aside from giving it a great feel, keeps the bow from feeling as cold as bare metal when being used in cold climates. The particular model we tested was equipped with a hostage arrow rest, non lighted fiber optic sights, a cheap rope style wrist strap and a very basic 5 arrow quiver.
Diamond Razor Edge draw weight adjust ability range
The first huge surprise was the 30# range in adjust ability for draw weight. The Diamond Razor Edge reviewed had limbs for 30-60# draw weights. After fully raising the poundage the Diamond Razor Edge reviewed had an additional 2# over the listed draw weight range for a max poundage of 62#. Despite its billing as a youth/ ladies bow it has the ability to go above and beyond any comfortable draw weight for youth or most women.
The Diamond Razor Edge draw length adjust ability
The Diamond Razor Edge reviewed had an adjustable draw length of 19-29 inches and we were astounded at the ease and time it took to to change the draw length with the simple turn of 2 screws with an Allen wrench and NO BOW PRESS. We changed the draw length from its set length to its maximum draw length of 29 inches in less then 30 seconds. The Diamond Razor Edge draw length adjustment module is nothing less then spectacularly easy to use. Now fully adjusted our Diamond Razor Edge review was ready to go.
Diamond Razor Edge- after the shot
The first shot revealed a blazing fast youth/ ladies bow and a very fast bow in general with a comfortable 75% let off. The Diamond Razor Edge has IBO speed listed at 308. With no string silencers the bow was hardly loud and its dual cam equipped parallel limbs were almost shock free. The thought put into the Diamond Razor Edge for an emerging demographic, being youth and ladies is a blessing to the sport of archery priced at right around $300.
Max draw at 29 inches
The Diamond Razor Edge practical upgrade adjustments
Once shot "as is" we begun to test practical adjustments to improve performance and shoot ability yet not put too much into an already greatly priced bow. Of the arrow rests tested the NAP Apache drop away rest performed very nicely and suited the Razor Edge well. We swapped out the stock pin sights and added the fairly priced Tru Glo lighted fiber optic pin sights. We also added an adjustable Norway industries string stop to match Bowtech's upgraded version of the Diamond Razor Edge dubbed the Soldier which despite the upgraded cams and the higher price that comes along with them, they both still share an IBO speed of 308 fps. In light of the bows light weight we added a Carbon Express 8inch stabilizer in combination with string vibration dampeners which resulted in an extremely accurate, fast, shock free and quiet bow at an incredible price. For what it is and what it's priced at, there isn't one negative thing to say about the 2010 Diamond Razor Edge.
