Lighting Two Light

LED Lights, Incandescent Lights, and Halogen Lights
In every home, almost thirty percent of the total electric bill is due to lighting. So, if you replace your halogen bulbs with LED bulbs, you can significantly reduce energy consumption and save more money. LED lights are a lot more cost-efficient and energy-efficient compared to halogen lights that is why they are more ideal for downlights, kitchen lights, and outdoor fixtures.
Incandescent lights create light by running electricity through a filament. This filament heats up and produces light while it is hot. Because of such process, about ninety percent of the energy used is only converted into heat. The remaining ten percent becomes converted into light. So, if you use incandescent light bulbs for your downlights and outdoor lights, you will waste energy.
Incandescent light bulbs produce a lot of heat; your cooling system may not be able to cope up. To keep it as cool as possible, extra energy would be needed. Thus, extra costs would arise. The average life of these lights is only about one thousand hours, so frequent replacement may be necessary. They are also not practical choices for hard-to-reach areas such as high ceilings.
In addition, incandescent lights and halogen lights are dangerous and fire hazards. The filaments inside halogen lights can rise up to 2,500˚C while the bulb can rise up to 500˚C. So, if there is a piece of insulator touching the light fitting, there could be a fire. If you want to prevent fire from starting, opt for cooler lights such as LED light bulbs or LED lights.
LED produces light by making use of diodes instead of heated filaments or gas. LED lights can be as small as two millimeters, making them ideal for fitting into compact areas and hard to reach places. LED light bulbs can also last for a long time – approximately eighty thousand hours at maximum.
With LED bulbs, you can be sure of your safety even if you use your downlights, kitchen lights, and any other lighting fixtures for long hours. Although halogen light bulbs make excellent dimmers, they are still risky to use. However, you can use an alternative form of lighting such as an IRC lamp. IRC lamps are almost the same as halogens except that they have infrared coating.
When it comes to energy saving, nonetheless, noting is better than LED. LED bulbs are your best options for downlights, kitchen lights, garden lights, and even emergency lights. They use very little energy but give off bright lights. LED bulbs are a bit pricey but their energy savings are plenty. So, in the long run, you will get more satisfaction from LED lights.
