A Guide to Solar Utility Lights for Your Yard

Apart from decorative purposes, solar lights can be made to perform a number of important functions relating to security and safety in the home. This was not possible for a long time owing to the limitations inherent in the preceding stages of development of solar technology.

The limitations of solar power technology in the past

As if to make up for its tardiness, there are many designs for your solar lamp posts. You can have Victorian-style lamp posts featuring single up to triple lamps on one post. Modern designs traverse rectilinear to oval shapes.

An interesting lamp post has an adjustable solar panel which can be made to face in the direction from which sunlight is brightest. But that is not all, this lamp can provide power for both LED bulbs and the old Edisons or incandescent bulbs. Actually, the swiveling solar panel can be bought on its own and used for your old Edison bulb lamp post.

Surveillance lights

To deter prowlers and other such people from your home at night, you need solar surveillance lights. Again it should be mentioned that brightness is no longer such a bothersome issue if you bother to do the correct research and live-test the equipment before making out a check for it. The good items are available. You only need to look for them.

Surveillance lights may be mounted on walls or simply propped up on your porch. There are various models intended to serve the different preferences of customers. Surveillance lights may be fixed or rotating, They may be plain white or colored. Plain whites provide the clearest illumination. Colored ones are also great for livening up dancing parties in the house.
